Massage Therapy Treatments
What is a Registered Massage Therapist?
A Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) has the required standard of education offered by a Provincially Accredited Post Secondary Institution. To obtain a license to practice the student therapist must successfully pass the examinations conducted by the CMTBC, College of Massage Therapists of B.C..
Massage therapy in B.C. is legislated by the government under the B.C. Health Profession Act. The CMTBC closely monitors the quality of practice for all RMT’s, thereby ensuring safe and ethical health care to the public. RMT’s treatments range from relaxation massage to deep tissue and sports massages, and can also treat such ailments as tendonitis, arthritis, fibromyalgia, whiplash injuries from motor vehicle accidents, and provide relief from pregnancy and post-pregnancy discomforts.
